Kaiser, oh Kaiser.  Why must you tease me so with your promises of managed healthcare, yet tangle me in your web of bureaucracy?

I’ve been to Kaiser on four different occasions while in San Francisco.

One - I got hit by a car and had to have the ambulance take me to Kaiser.  The emergency room doctor reset my broken ankle and put a cast on.  Two hours later, I had to have my ankle re-broken and re-set.  Necessary, but NOT fun.  3 stars.

Two - My ear hurt.  I got another damn ear infection.  Seriously, what am I, like 5 years old?  I called Urgent Care, got some ear drops and painkillers the same day.  5 stars.

Three - Painful lump on my eye.  I call urgent care, and they diagnose me with shingles.  It hurts.  They only prescribed Motrin.  2 stars.

Four - I ran out of contacts.  Had to get an eye appointment.  I get there, pay my 25 dollar copay, and then get told I needed to wear my contacts.  I’m in a catch 22 - I’m at Kaiser specifically because I need contacts, yet I’m told I can’t get new ones unless I’m wearing my new ones.  I don’t get tested, 25 bucks down the drain.  1 star.

Average:  3 stars.

And wow, I’m a walking trainwreck.
