I have a love/hate relationship with Asian supermarkets, which combine the convenience of a Safeway or Albertsons with the goodies of my very chinese childhood (and adulthood). I also love that they have food stations around the store, for a dead duck hanging by its feet or some dry squid or some other crazy good stuff that scares the whiteys.
The thing I don’t like? Dude - it’s a glorified Safeway. This is not Hong Kong, this is not Chinatown, hell, this is not even the 30 Stockton! Chinese grandmas of the East Bay, STOP THROWING ELBOWS! Seriously, you’re about up to my stomach, and a carelessly thrown elbow into my, uh, nether-regions and I’m sorry, but you won’t be having the lovely great-grandchildren you so desire.
This place is huge. Whatever you want, they WON’T run out of it. Please for my health. And for the health and liveliness of your future great-grandchildren. The children! Think of the children!!!!
